Totara LMS Case Study - Online training for the Construction Industry
Webanywhere managed the migration of an existing Moodle installation to Totara LMS, the corporate extension of Moodle with extra enterprise level functionality, for MKM Building Supplies.
MKM Building Supplies is the largest independent builders’ merchant in the UK, providing construction materials from a huge range of suppliers to a fast growing customer base. MKM saw a big opportunity to combine the requirements of industry compliance, the need for enhanced customer service training and a desire to lower training costs in a single online learning management system.
The Totara LMS solution
MKM decided to move to Totara in part because it is open source, and thus is under continual development ensuring the solution is future proof. Another consideration was the lack of per-user licence fees associated with proprietary software. Finally, the advanced functionality of Totara, such as CPD tools and sophisticated management reporting, allowed MKM to track and improve their internal training provision in an efficient manner.
